Out of curiosity

Juveniles of Red Claw

Red claw is a very hardy species. Just look at these juveniles that we received a pair of weeks ago sent by a breeder from Sicily. In fact, they survived to an absurd two-week journey inside a box because of a setback with the shipping company.

Sincerely,  it was astonishing to find 4 of them on 8 not merely alive but even overactive. It was an amazing surprise if you think that they had no food and water at all.  Since the breeder stocked them amid straw.  (Actually, this method of storage is the most effective to guarantee the survival of whatever crayfish species!)

Red-claw

Besides they survived despite the high temperature usually crayfish is highly sensitive to.
